Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun files defamation lawsuit
South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun is pushing back legally after YouTuber Kim Se-ui and the family of his late co-star, Kim Sae-ron, claimed he had a secret romance with Sae-ron and tried to pay nearly $3 million to cover it up.
The controversy started when Se-ui played an audio clip at a May 7 press conference, saying it proved their relationship.

Soo-hyun's lawyers say the audio is AI-generated and completely fake, describing the claims as a "serious case of false accusation" involving forgery and even possible violations of child welfare laws.
They've filed new complaints for defamation and forgery against both Se-ui and Sae-ron's family.
This comes after earlier lawsuits following Sae-ron's death in February 2025, with Soo-hyun's side insisting on full accountability for spreading misinformation.
