Kuberaa's underperformance in Tamil surprises director
Kuberaa, a Telugu-Tamil crime drama from director Sekhar Kammula, has pulled in ₹81 crore nett in India within 11 days.
The film follows Dhanush as Deva, a beggar drawn into financial crime by ex-CBI officer Deepak (Nagarjuna), with Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh also featuring.
The film's earnings in India and overseas
Most of Kuberaa's earnings came from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka adding solid support.
Overseas, it collected a significant amount—pushing its worldwide total close to ₹126 crore.
After a big start on opening weekend, collections dipped but still made this one of Dhanush's notable hits in India.
Should you watch 'Kuberaa?' Our take
If you're into intense crime stories or are a fan of Dhanush or Nagarjuna, Kuberaa could be worth your time.
The film's strong performances and gripping plot have clicked with audiences in Telugu states and abroad—even if the response in Tamil Nadu was just okay.
