Mammootty launches helpline against drug abuse
Malayalam superstar Mammootty just launched a new helpline, "Talk to Mammootty," to help tackle drug abuse and trafficking.
Announced on June 25, 2025, via Facebook, the project is a team effort with Kerala's Excise and Local Self-Government departments, plus support from Kudumbashree Mission.
Callers get a recorded message from Mammootty himself, promising full confidentiality at 62388-77369.

The helpline got over 150 calls in its very first hour—showing how much people want help or are ready to speak up.
Besides reporting issues safely, callers can access counseling for substance abuse recovery through Rajagiri Hospital's social wing in Aluva.
The charity behind this is Care and Share International (founded by Mammootty), with Kudumbashree groups spreading the word so more people know they're not alone.
