Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called Mohanlal "the pride of every Malayali" and highlighted his iconic role in Vanaprastham, which made it to Cannes back in 1999.
With over four decades in film—including 34 movies in just 1986—Mohanlal was celebrated with a memento, scroll, and a special painting at the event attended by top filmmakers and ministers.
