The first look of 'Narcos' video game revealed

Narcos is one of the most acclaimed shows on Netflix that traces the rise of drug cartels. While the first two seasons saw the rise of infamous Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel, season 3 took viewers inside the heart of the Cali cartel. For fans of the show, there is great news, as the first look of Narcos video game has been revealed.

    The brains behind the game

The Narcos game titled, 'Narcos: Rise of the Cartels' is being published by Curve Digital, the London based publisher, which has signed a deal with Gaumont, the producer of Narcos. The game is being developed by Curve's sister company Kuju, which is renowned for titles like 'Marvel: Ultimate Alliance'. Available for PC and consoles, the game is expected to release in 2019.

What will the gameplay be like?

The upcoming game is expected to be a brutal turn-based action strategy game, where players will either play as the Medellin Cartel or the DEA. Hopefully, players will get step into the shoes of Wagner Moura's Pablo Escobar as they build their narco-empire from scratch. Gamers choosing to play as the DEA will likely have to apprehend and dismantle the Medellin cartel.

What does the trailer show us?

The trailer shows gamers the graphics they can expect when they are taken to the heart of Colombia. Coupled with the iconic music from the show, the trailer sets the mood for the game. Since it is just the first look, we don't actually see a gameplay trailer, but the gunshot at the end of the trailer hints at the violence which is coming.

    The blow goes on

While the game is scheduled to come out in the third quarter of 2019, impatient Narcos fans can get their daily fix by tuning in to Netflix to watch the fourth season of the show, Narcos: Mexico, which starts streaming from November 16.
