Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan criticized for collaboration

Director Vignesh Shivan and actor-producer Nayanthara are facing major criticism after teaming up with choreographer Jani Master, who recently admitted to sexually assaulting a minor.
The backlash grew when Shivan praised Jani on social media, but so far, both he and Nayanthara have stayed silent.

Jani's arrest and abuse allegations

Jani Master was arrested in September 2024 under the POCSO Act and got conditional bail; his National Award was suspended too.
Many online are upset that Shivan and Nayanthara would work with him—especially since Nayanthara has previously spoken out against abuse in the film industry.
