Rami Malek reveals he 'fought' for lead role in 'Nuremberg'

Entertainment

Rami Malek, best known for Bohemian Rhapsody, shared that he actually "fought" to land the lead in the upcoming film Nuremberg.
At a Cinema Society screening earlier this week, he said he was drawn to the story after reading the book it's based on—even though he didn't know much about the history at first.
In the movie, Malek plays Douglas Kelley, a psychiatrist who had to assess Nazi leader Hermann Goring's sanity during the famous Nuremberg trials.

More on the film and its cast

The film digs into Kelley's unique role and his interactions with Goring (played by Russell Crowe), whose fate took a dramatic turn after being sentenced to death.
Michael Shannon and John Slattery also join the cast, adding even more depth.
The recent screening drew big Hollywood names like Candice Bergen and Judd Hirsch.
With its focus on real events and human psychology, plus Malek's passion for the part, Nuremberg is anticipated to be a significant historical drama this year.
