#Castof83: Ranveer Singh gets his first teammate in Ammy Virk
The movie '83 is based on playing XI, who lifted the 1983 ICC World Cup. It features Ranveer Singh in the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. While details of other members of the cast have been kept under wraps, the makers revealed the first teammate a short while ago. Singer Ammy Virk will be seen as bowler Balwinder Singh Sandhu in this movie.
Interestingly, '83 will mark Ammy's debut in Bollywood. For the uninitiated, Ammy is a well-known face in the Punjabi industry and is known for singles like Qismat and Hanju. About the casting, the makers said, "We are in the process of casting and will rope in actors from film industries across India in the true spirit of the film."

Last evening, director Kabir Khan and his team shared a teaser video featuring the original team which scripted history. While not much was revealed in the teaser, the makers told us the release date. The movie will release on April 10, 2020.
Notably, Ranveer is quite excited about his role. He admitted he always wanted to be the on-screen Kapil Dev. "I remember when Kabir came to me with '83, I was like, 'finally, someone's planning to make a film on this'. It should be exciting to get into the skin of such a legendary player. I am really looking forward to it," Ranveer had said.
Given his dedication for work, Ranveer has already begun preparing for his role in '83. Ranveer will, reportedly, be trained by Kapil Dev himself to ensure the role is as authentic as possible. "Kapil will coach him to perfect his iconic bowling action and Ranveer will work with him to pick up all his mannerisms on and off the field," a source stated.
While we are sure cine-buffs and cricket nerds can't wait to relive the historic win of 1983, reports suggest the movie will get a wide release. '83 will be released in three languages, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. "Considering that cricket and movies are akin to religion in India, the producers have decided to shoot for the Tamil and Telugu versions simultaneously," a source said.
