The Honda Dio scooter used in the recent shooting incident outside director Rohit Shetty's residence was procured from Pune. The scooter belonged to a Pune resident who sold it to one of the accused, Aditya Gayki, for ₹30,000 days before the attack, reported IANS. This revelation adds a new layer to the ongoing investigation.

How the shooting was carried out
After acquiring the scooter, Gayki and another accused, Samarth Pomaji, parked it at a predetermined spot in Mumbai's posh Juhu area. The Crime Branch revealed that the individuals who purchased the vehicle were unaware of the shooter's identity. It was later revealed that Shubham Lonkar had instructed the shooter to collect the scooter from its location and carry out the shooting.

The shooting incident occurred between 12:30am and 1:00am on Sunday. Following the attack, the suspects fled the scene. Immediately after receiving news of the incident, senior Mumbai Police officials and teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch rushed to the site. The police are currently examining footage from over 100 CCTVs from cameras installed outside Shetty Tower and nearby buildings to track the attackers' escape route. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack.
