'Saat Samundar': Rajiv Rai warns Dharma Productions over song use

Filmmaker Rajiv Rai has called out Dharma Productions for using his classic song Saat Samundar in the teaser for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri without his permission.
Fans quickly spotted the track from his 1992 film Vishwatma, and now Rai's legal team has reached out to both Dharma and Saregama, which handles the music rights.

What's behind the dispute?

Rai says his contract with Saregama doesn't allow anyone to use his songs in other films unless he agrees first.
He's open to giving permissions—like he did recently for Aryan Khan's debut series—but wants proper agreements in place.
Rai hopes things can be sorted peacefully but is ready to take legal action if needed.
The movie is set for a Christmas 2025 release.
