Saif to be a part of 'Bunty Aur Babli' sequel?
Saif Ali Khan, who was last seen in the web-series Sacred Games 2, seems to have gotten another project in his kitty. According to media reports, the Nawab of Pataudi has been approached for the much talked-about sequel to Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji's Bunty Aur Babli. It seems Saif will be playing a pivotal role in the movie, the reports suggested.
Although there hasn't been any official confirmation about the cast of the sequel, speculations about it continue to be rife. There have been reports that former Miss World Manushi Chhillar will be making her much-anticipated Bollywood debut with the sequel opposite actor Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy fame. The makers are keen to cast fresh faces for the sequel.
The media reports also suggest that unlike the first installment, Bunty Aur Babli sequel will have two couples. "There will be two pairs of actors with a jodi from the younger generation of actors joining the two main leads from the original," a source was quoted as saying. The movie may also feature the original Bunty Aur Babli aka Abhishek and Rani, respectively.
Meanwhile, there have also been speculations about Amitabh Bachchan's return in the movie. The veteran actor had played the role of a cop in the first installment. "It needs to be seen if Amitabh Bachchan also reprises his role in the sequel," the source added. Notably, the movie will be helmed by Shaad Ali who also directed the first one in 2005.
Now, if these reports turn out to be true, Rani and Saif will be reuniting on-screen after 11 years. They were last seen together in 2008 release, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Currently, Rani is working on the upcoming sequel to her 2014 release, Mardaani. On the other hand, Saif is gearing up for the release of Laal Kaptaan, which will release in October.
