'Sandese Aate Hai' gets a massive remake for 'Border 2'

Entertainment

The classic patriotic song "Sandese Aate Hai" is making a comeback in Border 2, with over 500 musical technicians, orchestral players, arrangers, and sound engineers and big names like Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vishal Mishra lending their voices.
This ambitious project took nearly a year at Yash Raj Studios.

Why does this matter?

Not only did producer Bhushan Kumar pay a record ₹10 crore for the song rights—the highest ever for Bollywood—but the new version will be central to Border 2's story about the 1971 India-Pakistan War.
The song aims to honor soldiers' sacrifices and will feature stars like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Dosanjh on screen.
Even original composer Anu Malik has given his thumbs up to this fresh take by Mithoon.
The film hits theaters January 22, 2026.
