Santoshi: Deol's 'Batwara 1947' hero beats Iron Man and Superman
Entertainment
Director Rajkumar Santoshi is hyping up his new film, Batwara 1947, by saying Sunny Deol's character is "better and stronger than Iron Man and Superman put together."
He highlighted not just the physical strength but also the courage it takes to stand up against hatred during Partition.
Santoshi called this the most courageous character he has written, adding, "Sunny has done full justice to it."
Deol plays father of grown children
Deol shared that his role here is very different from Tara Singh in Gadar: this time he's a family man with grown-up kids, not a romantic hero.
The story follows his family's tough journey to Lahore during Partition and skips any love story angle.
The cast also includes Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Kanikka Kapur, and Ali Fazal.
