A Different Man, written and directed by Aaron Schimberg, is a darkly comedic psychological study that explores themes of self-worth and identity. The protagonist, Edward (Stan), is an aspiring actor who lives in fear and social isolation due to neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes large tumors on his face. His life changes after he undergoes a groundbreaking experimental surgery to fix his face.

Post-surgery, Edward adopts a new identity but soon finds himself in danger from Oswald (Pearson), a confident and charming man who also has neurofibromatosis. Oswald's refusal to let his disease define him drives Edward into obsession and paranoia. Stan's performance earned him several accolades, including a Golden Globe win in January 2025 after his success at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, where he won the Silver Bear.

Pearson's role in A Different Man is also significant. As a real person with neurofibromatosis, he offers a different perspective on Edward's self-deprecating narrative.
