Shah Rukh Khan tops IMDb's '25 Years of Indian Cinema'

Entertainment

Shah Rukh Khan just got crowned India's most prolific star by IMDb in their new "25 Years of Indian Cinema" report.
Out of 130 top Indian films from January 2000 to August 2025 (yep, that's a huge span), SRK shows up in 20—more than anyone else.
These rankings are based on over 9.1 million user ratings worldwide, so it's not just hype.

Male leads back in the day vs today

Back in the early 2000s, a handful of male leads dominated the scene—SRK even starred in eight of the top 25 films and led the most popular film five years straight.
But things look different now: in the last five years alone, 23 different stars have taken center stage, with only a few like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Suriya, and Vijay repeating.
According to IMDb, today's stars are important but are part of a bigger team effort that drives a film's success.
