'Ship of Theseus' director wants Aamir to lead 'Maya' adaptation
What's the story
Acclaimed director Anand Gandhi, known for his work in Ship of Theseus and Shasn, is currently working on a transmedia universe for Maya with game designer Zain Memon. The project will include novels, graphic novels, games, and films. In a recent interview with PTI, Gandhi expressed his desire to collaborate with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on the film adaptation of Maya.

Gandhi hopes to 'seduce' Khan into 'Maya'
Gandhi further revealed, "I've been telling him about Maya from the time we conceived it, he was one of the first actors to hear about it." "I hope I can seduce him at some point to come and act in it." The director also shared that his ex-wife and All We Imagine As Light actor Kani Kusruti is also a producing partner on the project.
Storyline
'Maya' explores a world of sentient trees
Maya is set on a fictional planet called Neh, where a biological network of sentient trees known as Maya acts as a living internet. Citizens log in daily to this network, stepping into shared dreamscapes for work and play. The immortal beings called Divyas harvest the data from this network to see billions of possible futures. The story revolves around one person's freedom which threatens everything.
