'Sitaare Zameen Par' Day 1 box office collection

Aamir Khan is back on the big screen with "Sitaare Zameen Par," a spiritual sequel to his earlier hit, "Taare Zameen Par."
The film opened with ₹4.76 crore at the box office—an okay start after his long break.
Industry analyst Taran Adarsh pointed out that the movie's real test will be whether audiences spread good word-of-mouth.

'Sitaare Zameen Par' could earn more than reported figures

Advance ticket sales looked promising, with over 1.15 lakh tickets booked for nearly 9,500 shows. Factoring in blocked seats, day-one earnings could have reached up to ₹6.88 crore.
"Sitaare Zameen Par" is only in theaters for now (no OTT release yet) and faces off against Akshay Kumar's struggling "Housefull 5."
