Smriti Mandhana postpones wedding after father's health scare
Cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchchal were all set to tie the knot on November 25 in Sangli, but hit pause after Mandhana's father showed symptoms of a possible heart issue during breakfast.
He's now stable and under observation in hospital, and the family decided to put wedding plans on hold until he's fully recovered.
Both families are prioritizing his health, with Mandhana's manager sharing, "Smriti is very clear — she wants her father to be okay first, and later she will get married,"
Mishra said, requesting privacy for the family during the difficult time.
Celebrations on hold for now
Pre-wedding festivities like Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet—and even a fun bride vs groom cricket match—were already in full swing with friends and teammates joining in. But all remaining functions have been canceled for now.
Mandhana has always credited her dad for supporting her cricket journey, so making sure he's well comes first.
Muchchal's family echoed the sentiment, hoping everything will be fine soon so celebrations can continue.
