Social media influencer evicted after controversy
Apoorva Mukhija, known online as The Rebel Kid, was asked to leave her Mumbai apartment after police visited her over the India's Got Latent (IGL) controversy.
The building management cited their rule against renting to single women and bachelors, saying her presence led to complaints and the enforcement of the building's policy.
How the controversy unfolded
Police showed up at Mukhija's place after complaints about an IGL episode where YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia made offensive jokes and Mukhija used explicit language during a heated argument.
After this, the building management enforced their policy and told her to move out—even though she'd been living there for a year.
Mukhija is now on 'The Traitor'
Mukhija joked she was "single-handedly responsible for evacuating feminism out of that building" because of all the drama.
She faced backlash and threats, took a short break from social media, but has since bounced back—she got her security deposit back and is now competing on Prime Video's reality show The Traitor hosted by Karan Johar.
