Amid tax evasion allegations, Sonam-Anand profess love on Valentine's Day
Actor Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her husband, businessman Anand Ahuja, are one of the sweetest couples in Bollywood who never shy away from showcasing their love for each other on social media. And, to no one's surprise, the pair celebrated the day of love on Monday by sharing lovely pictures on the internet. However, this comes amid the recent tax evasion allegations against Ahuja.
The Aisha star shared a glamorous picture with her hubby on Instagram on Monday. Her caption read: "Happy [Valentine's Day]. Nothing more important than [love]." Ahuja, on the other hand, posted six images with his better half along with the hashtag #EverydayPhenomenal. Dubbed to be one of the most stylish B'wood couples, the pair looked amazing and posh in every one of their uploads.
While the celebrity couple seems to have been on cloud nine with their Valentine's Day celebrations, a serious accusation was brought up against Ahuja recently. An international shipping company, MyUS, had alleged that the businessman had used doctored invoices, a tactic that is sometimes used to evade paying taxes and custom duty. However, the Ahujas had vehemently fought off these allegations.
So, what's the whole ruckus about? On January 27, Ahuja took to his Twitter handle to voice his dissatisfaction over the customer service provided by the shipping company. Replying to his tweet, MyUS wrote it wasn't a "matter of customer service quality," instead, "Ahuja misrepresented the price he paid for sneakers purchased on eBay which would result in him paying [fewer] duties and taxes."
Anyways now have moved all items and closed my account. Gooooood riddance!— anand s ahuja (@anandahuja) February 11, 2022
Referring to the shipping firm's claims as "baseless slandering," the 38-year-old revealed he has now closed his account with the company. The Neerja actor also came to her husband's defense, tweeting, "Terrible customer service is shameful." Last seen in 2019's The Zoya Factor, Kapoor Ahuja has a thriller called Blind coming up. She will be playing a visually-impaired person in this Shome Makhija-directorial.
