Sony TV breaks silence on Anu Malik's 'Indian Idol' exit

Music composer Anu Malik created a buzz this morning after he announced his exit from the singing-based reality show 'Indian Idol 10'. He released a statement about taking a break from the show, after he been accused of sexual misconduct by several women. And while Sony Entertainment Television was keeping mum over the controversies so far, it has finally opened up on his exit.

    Sony TV confirms Anu's exit

Confirming Anu's exit from 'Indian Idol 10', Sony Entertainment Television released an official statement today. "Anu Malik is no longer a part of the Indian Idol jury panel. The show will continue its planned schedule and we will invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal and Neha to judge Indian Idol season 10," the statement read.

Anu claims to take a break from the show

After being accused of sexual harassment, Anu, apparently, chose to step down as the judge of 'Indian Idol 10'. He stated that he is not able to focus on his work because of the controversies. "I, Anu Malik, have decided to take a break from Indian Idol as I am currently unable to focus on my work, my music and the show," he asserted.

Anu Malik is the new sexual predator of Bollywood?

In the wake of the ongoing #MeToo movement, five women have accused Anu of sexual misconduct so far. His name first popped up when singer Sona Mohapatra called him a sexual predator in her Instagram post. Her allegations were followed by Shweta Pandit, and then three other women shared their traumatic stories about being sexually harassed by Anu Malik.
