Soori's 'Mandaadi' capsizes during shoot; crew rescued, no injuries reported
While filming the Tamil sports drama Mandaadi near Thondi a few days ago, a boat carrying the crew—including actor Soori and director Mathimaaran Pugazhendhi—capsized during an important sea scene.
Thankfully, local fishermen stepped in quickly and everyone made it out safely, but camera gear worth about ₹1 crore was lost to the water.
Investigation launched; filming resumed
The film's team, led by producer Elred Kumar and creative producer Vetrimaaran, got right back to work after a brief pause.
Marine Police started an investigation to check if safety rules were followed on set.
Filming resumed soon after with extra precautions in place.
