Suniel Shetty reveals the reason for not doing South films
What's the story
Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty recently revealed why he doesn't often work in the South Indian film industry. Speaking at a public session of Lallantop Adda 2025 in Delhi, he said that most offers coming toward him from South filmmakers are for negative roles. He said, "They want to cast the Hindi heroes as powerful from an antagonistic point of view... And that is one thing that I don't like."
Career choices
Shetty's brief foray into South Indian cinema
Despite his reservations, Shetty has dabbled in South Indian cinema. He appeared in Rajinikanth's Darbar and a Tulu film called Jai. "I did a film with Rajini sir only because I wanted to tick that box of having worked with him." He added, "Recently, I did a small Tulu film just to encourage the film, which is doing really well; it's called Jai...Today, there is no language barrier." "If your content is good, it will cross all barriers."
