The supernatural romance film Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is set for its world television premiere on Sony MAX on March 21 at 8:00pm. The movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. It is part of Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Director on why he chose Khurrana
Director Sarpotdar revealed that Khurrana was his first and only choice for the film. Bollywood Hungama quoted him as saying, "Ayushmann has an inherent emotional honesty that allows audiences to instantly connect with him, even in the most unconventional worlds." "We needed an actor who could ground an out-of-the-world narrative with sincerity and depth, and he does that effortlessly."

Thamma redefines the concept of love, weaving together emotion, comedy, mystery, and mythology. Khurrana plays Alok Goyal, a journalist whose life is turned upside down when he falls for Tadaka/Tarika (Mandanna). The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and Sathyaraj in important roles. It was released in October 2025.
