What's the story

Indian advertisements and irrationality have often gone hand in hand. No, Complan didn't make me taller, stronger or sharper and Tide didn't give 'chamakti safedi'. The absurd ads are laced with exaggeration, sexism, and cliched elements. In short, everything about them is irritating. And Ranveer Singh's latest Ching's ad seems to be fitting the category. If you haven't watched it, then please don't.

Don't even ask!

Ranveer becomes a rocket, has fire coming out of butt

Titled 'Captain Ching Rises', Ranveer has once again promoted the food-brand with slapstick humor. And its absurdity has no bounds. Ranveer is Captain Ching who saves a spaceship from an asteroid by becoming a rocket after taking a sip of Ching's Schezwan Chutney. Genius! And how does Ranveer become a rocket? By letting flames emerge out of his butt. Ass on fire, literally!

Well..

There is no food in the whole ad

While the ad doesn't really strike a chord with logic (as if they ever do?), what grabs attention is dialogues like 'Jiske bum mein hai dum'. The punchline, 'Yeh chutney nahi...Rocket hai Rocket', with that Haryanvi accent, adds the not-really-required Indianness to it. The most basic absurdity- There's no food in the whole 40-seconds ad for Ching's Schezwan Chutney.

Can't unsee it

Love it or hate it, just can't ignore it

Despite the numerous ludicrous moments in the ad, it has gotten over a million likes and thousand comments on YouTube. Some netizens are flabbergasted while others like the cheeky idiocy of Ranveer. But then, you surely cannot forget it easily. That's the thing about brainless banters, like it or not, once you see them, you cannot un-see them.

Twitter Post

We know, right!

Cringeworthy

Ranveer and Ching's, now there is a pair

Ranveer Singh has always cringed us to the core with his ads for Ching's. Ching's previous short-film 'Ranveer Ching Returns' features Ranveer saving a post-apocalyptic world with Ching's noodles and celebrating it with a Bollywood song. And when you thought it was over, he cross-dressed, became his own mother. We love you Ranveer, but please take it down a notch.
