Universal proposes 1st UK theme park
Universal Studios just took the first big step toward opening a massive theme park near Bedford, UK.
Think themed zones, hotels, shops, restaurants—the whole package.
The project could pump nearly £50 billion into the economy and create 28,000 jobs, with most roles going to local folks.
How the transport upgrades are being funded
To make getting there easy, the UK government is putting in almost £500 million for transport upgrades—£270 million will go to improving Wixams rail station and about £200 million for new road links from the A421.
The goal: smooth trips for both visitors and staff.
Park expected to open in 2031
If all goes as planned, Universal's first UK park will open its doors in 2031.
There's already an online portal up for job seekers, and recent consultations show a huge 92% of locals are on board.
Expect more details—and ways to get involved—coming soon.
