Why Farah Khan started YouTube channel: 'That's bloody expensive'

Entertainment

Bollywood director Farah Khan—famous for Main Hoon Na and Happy New Year—recently shared why she started her own YouTube channel: rising expenses and family needs.
On the show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, she admitted, "Even when my movie was not happening, when I wasn't directing, I said chal (come on), let me do YouTube, because I can see the skew."
With three kids about to start university, she remarked, "that's bloody expensive," so she gave vlogging a shot—and it worked.

Triplets's college expenses pushed her to start vlogging

In April 2024, Farah launched a cooking channel with her cook Dilip. It quickly grew to nearly 3 million subscribers, showing just how much people loved her new content.
Her triplets—Czar, Anya, and Diva—are now 17, and planning for their college pushed her to try something different.

She's now also working on a web series

Riding on her YouTube success, Farah continues to explore new creative avenues.
