1990 IAF killings: Yasin Malik named as main shooter

India

Big update in a decades-old case—two eyewitnesses have identified Yasin Malik, former JKLF chief, as the main shooter in the 1990 attack that killed four Indian Air Force personnel and injured several others in Srinagar.
The shooting happened on January 25, 1990, and the witnesses were actually colleagues of those who lost their lives.

Eyewitness testimony pushes case forward; trial speeds up

Along with Malik, three others—Showkat Bakshi, Nanna Ji, and Javed Ahmad—were also named for their roles in the attack carried out with automatic rifles.
Malik is already serving a life sentence for terror funding and joined the court hearing via video from Tihar Jail.
The prosecution presented strong eyewitness evidence and is pushing for maximum punishment.
The next court date is set for November 29, as the trial moves ahead quickly.
