Jharkhand: Couple, 2 kids found dead; murder-suicide suspected
What's the story
A couple and their two children were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Dumka district of Jharkhand on Sunday. The incident took place in Bardehi village within the Hansdiha police station limits. The deceased have been identified as Virendra Manjhi (30), his wife Aarti Kumari (26), daughter Ruhi Kumari (4), and son Viraj Kumar (2).

Bodies discovered, autopsy scheduled
The bodies of Aarti and the two children were found inside their home, while Virendra's body was discovered in a field outside. A police officer from Hansdiha police station said, "Ropes were tied around the necks of the woman and two children." The officer added that all four bodies have been sent for autopsy to Phulo-Jhano Medical College and Hospital in Dumka.

Possible murder-suicide scenario under investigation
Director General of Police (DGP) Tadashan Mishra said, "Primary investigation suggested that the husband killed his wife and two children and then died by suicide." Superintendent of Police (SP) has visited the spot, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team is investigating. Virendra's father, Manoj Manjhi, said there was an argument between the couple on Saturday night before they went to sleep.

Family's recent return from in-laws' house
Virendra's wife and children had returned from his in-laws' house a day before the incident. Virendra was supposed to take his sick two-year-old son to see a doctor. The police are probing all possible angles while awaiting autopsy reports. Villagers informed the police about Virendra's body in the morning, leading to further investigation into this tragic incident.
