Police confirm bomb threats, assure public safety
The Commissionerate of Amritsar Police confirmed the receipt of suspicious emails by several schools. They deployed Gazetted Officers at each location and initiated anti-sabotage checks. "The Cyber Police Station is tracking on a war footing the source of the mail," Amritsar Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said in a statement. "In the past, a few students were found responsible for such mischief," he added, assuring residents there was no need to panic as police are fully alert.

Speaking to India Today, senior police officer Dalwinderjit Singh said, "Around six schools in Amritsar district received threat mails. After consultation with schools, we have advised them to declare a holiday in the school." Parents, however, claimed they had no clue what was happening due to lack of clarity. "I received a call from my son's school and was asked to take him home. I asked the reason..I did not get much clarity," a parent told the news channel.
