India

Ladakh's well-known climate activist Sonam Wangchuk is in Jodhpur Central Jail after protests in Leh on September 24 turned violent, leaving four people dead and 90 injured.
The protests were about statehood and Sixth Schedule status for Ladakh.
From jail, Wangchuk is demanding an independent judicial investigation into the deaths and says he'll stay behind bars until this happens.

Wangchuk's wife takes his detention to SC
