Air India crash details revealed in press briefing

An Air India flight heading from Ahmedabad to London crashed into a hostel complex in Meghaninagar just after takeoff on June 12. The plane was carrying 242 people, mostly Indian and British nationals.

The aircraft barely made it to 650 feet before it suddenly dropped and crashed within a minute, leading to a huge explosion because of the full fuel tanks. Out of everyone onboard, only one passenger—Vishwash Kumar Ramesh—survived with injuries.

Both black boxes have been found, and investigators (with help from Boeing and US experts) are working to figure out what caused the crash. Air India and Tata Group are flying in families of victims and have promised financial support during this difficult time.
