Ayodhya's wax museum opens during Deepotsav: Highlights
Ayodhya just got the world's first Ramayana-themed wax museum, opening its doors during Deepotsav 2024, during the ninth Deepotsav festival.
Spread over nearly 10,000 sq. ft on the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama route, this ₹6 crore project is developed in collaboration with the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, which also gets a share of its revenue.
South Indian design, devotional music
The two-story museum features 50 life-size wax statues—think Lord Ram's childhood to the epic Ram-Ravan battle—crafted by Kerala's Sunil Wax Museum team.
Designed with South Indian flair, it fits up to 100 visitors per batch for a ₹100 entry fee.
Expect devotional music and chants that set a spiritual mood as you walk through.
Safety, tech, and tourism
With full air-conditioning at a comfy 22°C, round-the-clock CCTV, fire safety systems, and plenty of emergency exits, visitor safety is clearly top priority.
The bigger picture? This museum blends mythology and tech to put Ayodhya on the global religious tourism map—while also helping boost local infrastructure through its revenue-sharing setup.
