Bengaluru lecturer murdered over false London job promise

Ramanji, a 30-year-old MSc Agriculture lecturer from Chintamani, Karnataka, was allegedly murdered by his friend Sudhakar after being cheated out of ₹15 lakh.
Sudhakar had promised Ramanji a teaching job in London and took the money for supposed visa and recruitment fees.
On June 19, when travel plans were delayed on purpose, Sudhakar—along with his brother Manoj and friend Manjunath—strangled Ramanji.

Accused tried to destroy evidence

After the murder, the trio tried to cover their tracks by burning Ramanji's passport and phone, then weighed down his body with stones before dumping it in a village well.
Locals discovered the body days later. Police identified Ramanji with help from his brother Viswanath using clothing images shared publicly.
The accused confessed to killing him due to financial pressure and are now in custody as police continue their investigation into this premeditated crime.
