Bombay High Court orders Maharashtra doctors to end strike immediately
The Bombay High Court has ordered protesting doctors in Maharashtra to end their strike right away.
The protest started after the state allowed qualified homeopathy practitioners to prescribe allopathic medicines with just a one-year course, a move many doctors felt was risky.
The court said patient care, especially in emergencies and ICUs, can't wait, warning of serious consequences if doctors stayed away.
Junior doctors strike hits Maharashtra hospitals
Around 12,000 junior doctors across Maharashtra, including more than 2,000 doctors from BMC-run medical colleges in Mumbai, walked out, leaving government hospitals struggling with outpatient and surgery services.
Senior doctors and interns stepped up to keep emergencies running.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) opposed the policy and even warned they'd take their protest nationwide if it isn't rolled back.
