"The CBI is conducting searches in four districts -Lucknow, Unnao, Banda, and Fatehpur- and on some premises of the accused," the probe agency stated. "Investigation is continuing," it added. The case is related to the alleged rape of a minor girl by Sengar in 2017.

Rape survivor's family blames Sengar for car accident

On July 28, a car, in which the rape survivor was traveling, was hit by an overspeeding truck in Rae Bareli. The girl's family has alleged that Sengar was behind the road accident that left her and her lawyer critically injured and claimed the lives of two of her aunts. The condition of the rape survivor, who is on a ventilator, is still critical.

Number plates of the truck were blackened

Meanwhile, the driver and the cleaner of the truck, which hit the rape survivor's car, are also being questioned. The number plates of the truck were also blackened, which the truck owner claimed was done to escape from loan recovery agents due to EMI defaults. However, the loan agent confirmed that the owner did not default on payments, which triggered a fresh controversy.
