Chandigarh: Woman, friend jailed for sexually assaulting her sons
A Chandigarh court has sentenced a woman and her male friend to five years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting and harassing her two minor sons.
The crimes included harassment and sending obscene images to the younger boy.
Both were convicted under Sections 377, 511, and 34 of the IPC and Sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
How the case unfolded
The abuse came to light after the boys' father filed a complaint, following his separation from their mother.
He accused her and her friend Anmol—who was reportedly using drugs—of harassing their sons.
Despite both denying all charges, the court found them guilty based on evidence, including threats made to silence the children.
The mother was granted bail after a second attempt; Anmol's bail plea was rejected.
The duo have also been told to pay a fine of ₹12,000.
