Cyclone Ditwah weakens; heavy rains likely in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry

Cyclone Ditwah is losing strength as it moves north along the coast, staying mostly over the sea.
The IMD says it's now northeast of Jaffna and Vedaranniyam, and will get even weaker after passing Puducherry and Chennai on Sunday.

What to expect: Rain today, easing soon

Heavy rain is expected today in parts of north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with some areas getting intense downpours.
By Monday, rain should ease up to lighter showers across most places—including Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Kerala, and Mahe—so things should start calming down soon.
