Delhi endures unusual humidity amid delayed monsoon
Delhi's been feeling extra sticky lately, with humidity making it feel close to 40°C—even though the thermometer says 33-35°C.
Blame it on a cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea, which has pushed up moisture but brought only light showers so far.
The much-hyped monsoon? Still missing in action, despite several IMD predictions.
TL;DR
Monsoon delayed; next few days will be muggy
According to the IMD, an anticyclonic system is blocking the monsoon from moving north.
Southeasterly winds and a trough south of Delhi are adding to the muggy weather but not delivering much rain.
Usually, Delhi gets its monsoon by June 30, but this year it's running late.
The latest update hints at possible rains between June 28-29—so until then, expect more sweaty days and just occasional drizzles.
