Delhi nursery admissions: Distance matters most for 2026-27
Delhi's private schools have set their rules for nursery admissions next year, and living close to the school is your biggest advantage.
For example, Indraprastha International gives up to 55 points if you're within 12km, while Tagore International offers 50 points for those within four kilometers or using school transport.
What else counts?
Besides distance, having a sibling in the school, being a staff ward, or having alumni parents can earn you extra points—usually between 10 and 30.
Kids must be at least three years old (but not yet four by March 31, 2026), with a one-month age relaxation possible.
Key dates and special provisions
Applications run from December 4-27, with just a ₹25 registration fee.
Schools have to share how they award points and hold lotteries in front of parents.
There are reserved seats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and children with disabilities as per the Right to Education Act.
First admission lists come out January 23; final admissions wrap up by March 19.
