Delhi shivers as cold wave and fog take over

India

Delhi is facing a sharp cold wave—think thick fog, biting winds, and temperatures dipping below normal.
The IMD has put out a yellow alert for Friday, with more chilly mornings (5-7°C) expected through the weekend.
On Thursday, Safdarjung saw 5.8°C, while Palam dropped to 4.8°C.

Why does it matter?

The dense fog isn't just a mood—it's making daily life tough by cutting visibility down to just 100 meters in some spots.
With no western disturbance expected until January 15, the chill is here to stay (and might get colder).
Plus, air quality isn't helping: AQI hit "poor" on Thursday and could slip into "very poor" soon.
So if you're heading out, bundle up and maybe keep that mask handy!
