Delhi teen's suicide sparks protests over alleged teacher harassment
Shourya Patil, a 16-year-old Class 10 student at St. Columba's School in Delhi, died by suicide on November 18 after jumping from a metro platform.
His school bag was found with a note accusing four teachers of months of mental harassment; he wrote about being publicly humiliated and threatened with expulsion.
The principal was present during some incidents but was not directly accused in the note.

Shourya's father has filed an FIR against the teachers for abetment of suicide, saying his son had complained about mistreatment but got no help from the school.
All four teachers have been suspended as Delhi Police investigate—reviewing CCTV footage, talking to classmates, and checking the note's handwriting.
Protests have broken out outside the school demanding accountability, while mental health experts are urging schools to do more to prevent bullying and support students' well-being.
