Delhi to pay construction workers hit by pollution lockdown

Delhi's government will give a one-time ₹10,000 payment to construction workers who lost wages during the GRAP Stage III pollution ban.
This move comes after halted work as part of emergency air quality measures.

If you're a worker affected by the recent shutdown, payments for losses under stricter GRAP IV rules will be decided once those restrictions end.

What's GRAP and why does it matter?

GRAP is Delhi's emergency plan to fight severe air pollution.
Stage III banned most dust-creating construction, while Stage IV brought in even tougher steps like blocking heavy vehicles and shifting offices and schools online.
