Haryana judge, family acquitted in wife's 2013 death case
A special CBI court has cleared Haryana judicial officer Ravneet Garg and his parents of all charges in the 2013 death of his wife, Geetanjali.
She was found with gunshot wounds at Gurugram police lines on July 17, 2013.
The case, which started as a local police matter, was handed to the CBI after Geetanjali's family accused Garg and his parents of murder linked to dowry harassment.
What happened during the trial?
Garg was arrested by the CBI in 2016 but later got bail.
Prosecutors pointed to ballistic evidence and alleged dowry demands, but Garg's defense said there were no complaints from Geetanjali before her death and claimed the charges kept changing—from murder to dowry death.
After reviewing everything, the court acquitted everyone involved.
Garg had been suspended since his arrest; now, everyone's waiting for the full judgment details.
