Delhi's air stays dangerously polluted—smog shows no signs of leaving
India
Delhi is stuck in a thick haze for the ninth day straight, with air quality still in the "very poor" zone.
On Thursday, AQI numbers hovered around 400, and places like Wazirpur hit an alarming 468.
Even nearby areas—Jahangirpuri, Rohini, and Noida—are seeing severe pollution.
Low wind speeds mean there's little hope for quick relief.
What's being done (and why it's not enough)
Since November 11, strict GRAP-III rules have banned construction work and imposed curbs on construction, demolition, and the entry of some vehicles to fight the smog.
Despite these efforts, pollution just isn't budging because weather conditions are trapping all those pollutants close to the ground.
For now, wearing masks and exercising caution are advisable if you're stepping out.
