Jaipur school faces action after student's suicide linked to bullying
A private school in Jaipur has landed in trouble after a nine-year-old student died after jumping from the fourth floor on November 1, reportedly following months of bullying that the school failed to address—even after repeated complaints from the child's parents.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) stepped in and found that not only were safety rules ignored, but evidence at the scene was cleaned up before forensic examination.
What CBSE found—and what happens next
During a surprise inspection, CBSE uncovered more problems: missing student ID cards, no safety committee, poor CCTV coverage, and unsafe infrastructure without proper supervision.
Footage showed the student had asked teachers for help several times but didn't get support.
Now, the school has 30 days to explain itself or risk losing its affiliation.
