Delhi's getting hot-air balloon rides—here's what you need to know
Starting November 29, Delhi is launching tethered hot-air balloon rides at four locations, including two along the Yamuna riverfront.
The DDA tested things out with Lt. Governor VK Saxena at Baansera Park, and now everyone can join in—right in time for the best ballooning weather (November to February).
Where you can fly, how much it costs, and what to expect
You'll find these rides at four spots: Baansera Bamboo Park, Asita Riverfront, Yamuna Sports Complex, and Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.
Each flight lasts about 7-12 minutes, goes up to 120 feet high, and fits up to four people per trip.
Tickets are ₹3,000 plus tax; rides run for four hours daily and might go longer if there's demand.
Safety 1st—and a boost for eco-tourism
The balloons stay safely anchored with heavy-duty ropes (each can handle seven tons).
Beyond the thrill factor, this project is all about showing off Delhi's greener side—its riverfront, large parks like Baansera Park, and giving locals a fresh way to see their city.
