Diwali: Government to airlines--Don't raise fares unreasonably

With Diwali just around the corner, the Indian government is stepping in to make sure flight tickets don't skyrocket.
On October 12, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu met with officials from major Indian airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, and others, urging them to keep fares reasonable and address traveler concerns ahead of the festive rush.
Airlines adding more flights to handle holiday rush
To handle the holiday crowd, airlines are adding more flights on busy routes.
The government has also upgraded its AirSewa portal so passengers can easily report overpriced tickets.
Plus, officials have told the DGCA's Tariff Monitoring Unit to keep a close watch on fares and make sure airlines play fair this season.
