Durgapur: 2nd-year medical student abducted, gang-raped near college
A second-year MBBS student from Odisha was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three unidentified men on the night of Friday, October 10, 2025, near the IQ City Medical College campus in Durgapur, West Bengal.
She had stepped out with a male friend, who left when the attackers showed up.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning the friend
The assailants reportedly dragged her into a jungle, took her phone, threatened her not to report what happened, and even demanded money for its return.
Her parents have come from Odisha and filed a formal complaint; she's currently receiving treatment at the college hospital.
