Durgapur: 6 men arrested for allegedly raping Odisha student
A 23-year-old MBBS student from Odisha was allegedly sexually assaulted in Durgapur, West Bengal on October 10, 2025.
She had gone out for dinner with a male friend who, according to her father, led her to an isolated spot where the attack happened.
Police have arrested six suspects so far—including her classmate and the friend.
Survivor discharged from hospital, now staying at college guest house
After medical and psychological checks, the survivor was discharged from hospital on October 18 and is now staying at a college guest house under police protection.
Her father has filed a complaint against her friend for misleading her.
Police have recovered her stolen phone and are investigating the roles and statements of those involved.
An identification parade with the accused is set for October 22 as investigations continue.
